The sideways photo problem
Almost everyone has uploaded a photo that looked upright on their phone and appeared on its side once submitted. The cause is a small piece of information called the orientation tag. Rather than physically rotating the pixels when you turn the phone, the camera records which way up the picture should be displayed.
Modern apps read that tag and display the photo correctly. Many upload forms, older desktop programs and some print systems ignore it entirely, and show the raw pixels as the sensor captured them, which is sideways.

Not here. This tool handles quarter turns only. A slight tilt in a document scan is better fixed by rescanning the page flat.
