Barrackpore Kalamandir

Located in Barrackpur, Kolkata, Barrackpore Kalamandir is an established institute of dance and yoga that began its journey in the year 1990. Operating in its 35th year with a present strength of 300 students, the institute functions with dance and yoga as its two primary wings to bring positive impacts among participants. The dance department is headed by Dance Director Guru Shri Goutam Dey, who has travelled and performed in over 8 countries in the USA. The department imparts group classes and training on Kathak, Bharatanatyam, Rabindrik or Rabindra Nritya, Folk Dance, and other creative dance forms.

Alongside the dance training, the yoga department is headed by Yoga Director Guru Shrimati Jhumki Dey. The institute has participated in multiple programs and events all across the country. Through the knowledge and training provided, students are encouraged to carry forward the legacy of classical art forms while exploring other creative dance styles. Furthermore, the centre places high emphasis on ensuring physical fitness, purifying minds, and fostering holistic developments for individuals in the local community.
