First Step Preschool

First Step Preschool operates in Kolkata, West Bengal, serving children between the ages of 20 months to 3.5 years. The institution provides a warm and nurturing environment aimed at early childhood education and kindergarten preparation. The curriculum utilizes a research-based teaching method known as Direct Instruction, which employs rapid pacing, grouping by skill level, and teaching to mastery. This approach is intended to enhance academic performance and increase learning potential in subjects like math and reading.

The student-centred approach focuses on each child's needs, abilities, interests, and learning styles, allowing students to be active participants in their education. To support holistic development and motor skills, the center offers activities such as gardening, painting, yoga for concentration, and Zumba dance. Additionally, First Step Preschool maintains a low student-to-teacher ratio to help teachers manage classes effectively and provide individual attention. Quarterly assessments are conducted to monitor the growth and development levels of each student. Families seeking an early childhood experience can access facilities including an on-site playground at the Kolkata location.
