Soul and Surf

Soul and Surf operated a clifftop surf and yoga retreat in Varkala, Kerala, for fifteen years before closing its doors in April 2026. The location offered yoga services and shower facilities for guests visiting the South Cliff area of Janardhanapuram in Thiruvananthapuram district. Established initially after founders explored the southwest coast of India for waves, the retreat grew into a space where guests could reset, practice yoga, and experience the local surf scene. Following lease difficulties with a landlord, the physical home in Kerala closed permanently. The founders noted that old surf coaches and team members have started a separate venture called Wave Garden nearby for visitors still looking to stay, surf, and practice in the area.
